Like many people who have spent a lot of time in hospitals, I thought I understood the importance of oxygen saturation. I am certainly used to having my saturation level monitored and measured by doctors, nurses and paramedics. Although I first heard about OxySorb some time ago, I have only recently started to learn about it in any detail.
Today, I have taken OxySorb (a formulation of Oxygen Absorbing Enzyme (OAE) from Norwegian Kelp) for the first time. I will be happy to learn more about what OxySorb (OAE) can do for me. The following is just a small part of what I have learnt so far.
We breathe approximately 5000 gallons of air a day, but what if you could increase your oxygen intake by 2-3%, enabling your lungs to put more oxygen into the bloodstream with every breath. This may not sound like a lot, but it would add approximately 150 gallons of readily available oxygen to your arterial blood system and increase blood saturation levels by up to 25%.
The range of oxygen saturation in our bloodstream is very narrow, the maximum is 100%, but the minimum, below which we would be comatose, is 70-80%. Thus within a total range of only 20-30%, small changes in the saturation percentage can be quite significant in relation to our health and physical performance.
In primeval times, there was twice as-much oxygen in the air as there is today. Worse still, today pollutants such as car fumes, industrial waste and smog are continuously lowering oxygen levels in the atmosphere. Our bodies try to compensate by breathing faster and by producing more red blood cells. This in turn increases blood pressure for faster movement of the less oxygenated blood.
Decreases in oxygen intake can also compromise the immune system. Each time we take a breath, air (of which about 18% is oxygen), enters the body. The air travels into the lungs, where oxygen is exchanged for carbon dioxide. The oxygen moves into the bloodstream and is circulated to every cell, allowing the process of energy production to continue.
It is easy to understand the significance of maintaining ‘high’ oxygen bloodstream levels when you realise there is only a certain amount of haemoglobin in the body. These cells load up with oxygen (and other gases that you have just breathed in) as they pass through the lungs. On their trip through the body they pick up more waste gases; typically, but not exclusively, carbon monoxide, and carbon dioxide. When they get back to the lungs, the waste gases must be ‘dumped’ (i.e. exhaled through the lungs) so that the haemoglobin can be loaded with more oxygen so the cycle can start over.
The less oxygen there is in the air available for you to breathe AND the slower the haemoglobin can ‘dump’ the waste gases, the less oxygen your cells can receive.
A simple analogy: take a bus crowded with passengers – the only way to get new passengers (oxygen) on board is to let old ones (carbon dioxide, etc.) off. The speed at which carbon dioxide leaves, and oxygen enters the body, is known as the transfer rate. The higher the rate the healthier you are.

Some Dangers Of Oxygen Deficiency
When the body needs more oxygen than the transfer rate allows, it uses various signs to inform you to ‘slow down’, from being short of breath (panting), stitch and muscle cramps, and in rare cases… a heart attack! These symptoms are nothing more than symptoms of oxygen deprivation; that is, not having as much oxygen available as the body requires for the task being attempted.
Medical science knew no way to increase the transfer rate until OAE. In short, everyone can use more oxygen.
When the immune system is compromised by a lack of oxygen, our body is more susceptible to opportunistic bacteria, viral, and parasitic infections and colds, as well as flu.
Oxygen deprivation can also lead to life-threatening diseases, such as cancer. Cancer and most other infections or disease cannot live in an oxygen-rich environment.
Dr Otto Warburg, Head of the Max Plank Institute, Berlin, twice a Nobel Laureate, for cancer research stated:
Cancer has only one prime cause. It is the replacement of normal oxygen respiration of the body’s cells by an anaerobic (i.e. oxygen deficient) cell respiration.
A typical 70ml bottle can last 4-8 weeks and can provide a person with as much additional oxygen as you would get from a medical tank of oxygen everyday for 2 months. They can be taken as often as needed and can be used by all ages.
OAE is acceptable to vegetarians, since it contains no animal products!
FACT…Low levels of oxygen result in increased free radical production. A deficiency in cellular oxygen will also prevent our body from utilising antioxidants and other nutrients effectively. Regardless of the health promoting potential any nutrient may have, very little metabolic value can be experienced from it if our body is oxygen deficient.
OAE can help put more oxygen into the bloodstream than you can get by wearing a nasal catheter hooked up to an oxygen tank (at normally used therapeutic pressure).

What Is OAE?
